Sala de Corte

This restaurant, in a former fruit shop behind the Ribeira Market, is just for carnivores. It only offers good-quality grilled meat, served on cutting boards and accompanied by an excellent wine list. The meat is even part of the decor, displayed in a refrigerator.
Those who prefer a lighter meal may choose the “Prego” steak sandwich or the “Bitoque” (steak and eggs), but everyone will want to leave room for one of the original desserts.
It only has room for 28 people -- 18 at the tables and ten at the counter. For that reason, weekends are divided into two shifts -- the first one at 8PM and the second at 10PM.

Este restaurante, numa antiga frutaria nas traseiras do Mercado da Ribeira, é só para carnívoros. Só oferece carne grelhada, de boa qualidade e servida em tábuas de corte, e acompanhada por uma excelente carta de vinhos. A carne até faz parte da decoração, exposta numa grande arca frigorífica.
Quem preferir uma refeição mais leve pode optar por um prego ou um bitoque, mas todos quererão terminar com uma das sobremesas originais.
A “Sala” não é muito grande, com lugar para apenas 18 pessoas nas mesas e dez ao balcão. Por isso, ao fim de semana funciona por reserva com dois turnos, o primeiro às 20h e o segundo às 22h.
