Peixe na Avenida

Chef Luísa Fernandes had a restaurant by São Bento Palace in Lisbon, where she cooked for many of the biggest names in Portuguese politics, before moving to the United States and ending up at restaurants like "Robert" at the top of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. In 2009 she was a contestant on the cooking TV show "Chopped" on the Food Network, and ended up the winner. Years later she returned to Lisbon and created the menu for this restaurant by Avenida da Liberdade. The fish and the dessert that made her the winner on TV can now be tasted here, together with a variety of other dishes, most of them fish. Some are inspired by Asia and Latin America, especially the lands explored by the Portuguese navigators.
The dining room has an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, but it’s a relaxed spot with reasonably-priced lunch menus.

A chef Luísa Fernandes teve um restaurante junto ao Palácio de São Bento em Lisboa, onde cozinhou para muitos dos maiores nomes da política portuguesa, antes de se mudar para os Estados Unidos e ter passado por restaurantes como o “Robert” no topo do Museu de Artes e Design em Nova Iorque. Em 2009 concorreu ao programa de cozinha “Chopped” do canal Food Network, e acabou por sair vencedora. Anos mais tarde regressou a Lisboa e ficou responsável pela cozinha deste restaurante junto à Avenida da Liberdade. O peixe e a sobremesa que lhe deram a vitória no programa podem agora ser provados aqui, juntamente com uma variedade de outros pratos, a maioria deles de peixe. Alguns apresentam influências da Ásia e da América Latina, sobretudo das terras por onde passaram os navegadores portugueses.
A sala tem um ambiente elegante e sofisticado, mas trata-se de um espaço descontraído, com menus a preços razoáveis ao almoço.
