RESTAURANTE BELCANTO, Lisboa | Chef José Avillez

The first Belcanto opened in 1958 but was reborn in 2012 through distinguished chef José Avillez. It soon became the first restaurant in Lisbon to be awarded two Michelin stars, and in 2015 it was added to the list of the world's 100 best restaurants. Today it's only possible to get a table by booking weeks or even months in advance, also because it only has ten tables.
The chef has several restaurants in Lisbon and Porto, but this where he presents his haute cuisine, reinventing Portuguese and international flavors.

O primeiro Belcanto abriu em 1958, mas renasceu em 2012 com o premiado chef José Avillez. Em pouco tempo tornou-se o primeiro restaurante de Lisboa com a distinção de duas estrelas Michelin, e em 2015 entrou para a lista dos 100 melhores restaurantes do mundo. Hoje só se consegue mesa com uma reserva feita com semanas ou até meses de antecedência, até porque tem apenas dez mesas.
O chef tem vários restaurantes em Lisboa e no Porto, mas é neste que aplica as suas técnicas de alta cozinha, reinventando a gastronomia portuguesa e internacional.
