Dedicated to the martyrs who participated in the 1147 reconquest of Lisbon from the Moors, this beautiful church was built after the 1755 earthquake on the site of another where the first baptism after the reconquest took place.
It was completed in 1784 and is similar to two other Baroque churches nearby, the Church of Loreto and Encarnação.
Inside is a marble altar and a beautifully-painted ceiling, as well as an organ that's considered one of the best in the country.

Dedicada aos mártires europeus que participaram na conquista de Lisboa aos mouros, esta bela igreja foi construída depois do terramoto de 1755 no local onde já existia uma outra em que se realizou o primeiro baptismo depois da reconquista em 1147.
Ficou concluída em 1784 e apresenta um estilo barroco muito semelhante às igrejas do Loreto e da Encarnação ali perto.
No interior encontra-se um altar-mor em mármore e um belo teto pintado, assim como um órgão que é considerado um dos melhores do país.
