Lisbon's flea market is a destination for bargains and treasure hunting every Saturday and Tuesday mornings.
It's located by the National Pantheon and has more junk than real treasures, but it can be fun finding some oddities in between it all.
Most of the vendors are Gypsies and it's not uncommon to have a price bargained down.
Because "Ladra" means female thief, many translate this as "the thieves' market" (that's how it's often called in guidebooks). However, the more likely origin of the name is a derivation of "ladro," a bug usually found among antiques at this type of markets.
