This past weekend there was not one but two grand openings of gay spots in town. Both replaced long-established bars in the hope of re-energizing the city’s gay nightlife. The first one is Construction in Principe Real, taking over the space of the decades-old “Bric” and is managed by the team behind the popular Woof Lx. It can be said that this is the club version of the bar, attracting the same diverse crowd of all ages.
Down the hill in Bairro Alto is Bardot, previously “Sétimo Céu” which was one of the most popular gay bars for fifteen years. Found by the gayest corner in the city (Travessa da Espera and Rua da Barroca), it has everything to reach the same longevity of the previous space.

Vida Nova Na Noite Gay de Lisboa

No passado fim de semana não houve uma mas sim duas grandes inaugurações de espaços gay na cidade. Ambos substituíram bares bem conhecidos na esperança de reanimar a vida noturna gay de Lisboa. Um desses espaços chama-se Construction e fica no Príncipe Real onde durante décadas esteve o Bric. A gerência é a mesma do badalado Woof Lx e pode dizer-se que esta é a versão discoteca do bar, atraindo o mesmo tipo de clientes de todas as idades.
Descendo a colina, no Bairro Alto, está o novo Bardot, anteriormente chamado Sétimo Céu e um dos bares gay mais frequentados dos últimos quinze anos. Situado na esquina mais gay da cidade (Travessa da Espera e Rua da Barroca), tem tudo para atingir a mesma longevidade do espaço anterior.
