This mansion overlooking the sea and surrounded by a garden, holds a collection of decorative art.
It was built in the first years of the 20th century and became the residence of the Count Castro de Guimarães.
Many of the rooms are just as they were left by the last residents, with Indo-Portuguese furniture, paintings, ceramics, a chapel, and a large library with over 25,000 books. The most valuable item is an illuminated manuscript from 1505 illustrating Lisbon at the time.
In the basement is a number of archaeological finds, although this is a museum that's mostly worth a visit for its ambience, as it shows how the aristocracy lived at the turn of the century.

Este palacete virado para o mar e rodeado por um jardim, apresenta uma bela coleção de artes decorativas.
Foi construído no princípio do século XX e foi residência do Conde de Castro de Guimarães.
Muitas das suas salas encontram-se exatamente como foram deixadas pelos últimos residentes, com mobiliário Indo-Português, pinturas, cerâmica, uma capela e uma grande biblioteca com mais de 25.000 livros. O exemplar mais precioso é um manuscrito iluminado de 1505, ilustrando a cidade de Lisboa na época.
Há também uma coleção de achados arqueológicos, mas o mais impressionante do museu é o seu ambiente que mostra como a aristocracia vivia no virar do século.
